Rare Diamond: Hennessey V700 Black Diamond Edition CTS-V Sport Wagon

Check out one of the latest — and rarest — Cadillac CTS-Vs to come out of Hennessey Performance: A heavily-optioned 2011 Black Diamond Edition Sport Wagon (with a manual transmission, no less).

The Black Diamond Edition is a special option released by Cadillac earlier this year, and its main claim is its unique tri-coat paint process that goes beyond the standard metallic finishes found on the road today.

GM’s press release explains the process:

In the CTS-V Black Diamond, a dark tri-coat paint is embedded with SpectraFlair Bright Silver pigment. While other luxury makers offer metallic paints, Black Diamond is created through a meticulous process that gives the paint added dimension.

Instead of simply containing small bits of metal, the SpectraFlair pigment in Black Diamond uses aluminum flakes encapsulated in a glass-like substance called magnesium fluoride. The result is a paint that has a diamond-like sparkle as light hits the surface from different angles.

The Black Diamond also comes with yellow Brembo brake calipers, a special Midnight Sapele wood trim, satin black wheels and includes the must-have Recaro front seat option.

But not stopping there, this wagon received our potent V700 upgrade and optional exhaust dumps that are electrically-actuated to bypass the mufflers, letting all within earshot know its more than just a V with a special paint scheme.
