Take a Ride in a Hennessey HPE650 Supercharged Corvette Grand Sport

Ride along in one of our recently-completed Corvettes — A 650 horsepower supercharged Grand Sport — as John Hennessey takes it for a spin around Lonestar Motorsports Park.

The HPE650 features a TVS2300 E-Force based supercharger system, stainless steel long tube headers with high flow catalytic converters and an upgraded fuel system to churn out 650 horses for ZR1-level acceleration.

John Hennessey’s Daily Driver CTS-V Wagon Sets V Record at Texas Mile, Then Run 10′s in the 1/4

John Hennessey’s personal Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon (the “Hammer Wagon” as it’s called) has been laying down impressive feats of speed when it’s not performing the average tasks of a daily driver / grocery getter.

First up was a 2.5 hour trip to south Texas for a weekend at the Texas Mile, where the wagon edged the CTS-V speed record up even higher to 189 mph (it had previously been set in John’s old V sedan).

The next test was to hit the dragstrip to test it’s 1/4 mile potential. On drag radials, the V still managed to put down a time well in the 10′s with a 10.69 @ 134.69 mph.

All in a day’s work for the Hammer Wagon.

Celebrating 20 Years with a Limited Edition 650 Horsepower Camaro

October 2011 marks the 20th anniversary of John Hennessey’s leap into “making fast cars go faster”. To celebrate, HPE is building a limited run of supercharged HPE650 Camaros that offer a blend of immense power, sure-footed handling and sleek styling.

The 20th Anniversary Edition HPE650 Camaro comes as a brand new 2012 2SS/RS in the customer’s choice of coupe or convertible and manual or automatic. Color, however, is limited to a black on black scheme, with a choice of either chrome or silver finished Hennessey monoblock wheels. The HPE650 develops over 650 horsepower via a TVS2300 supercharger feeding an upgraded valvetrain of freer-flowing cylinder heads and a more aggressive camshaft. This allows for 0-60 mph sprints in under 4 seconds and 1/4 mile times in under 12.

In addition to the massive power gains, each car will receive an adjustable coilover suspension system lowered by 1″ for increased handling without sacrificing ride quality. On the exterior, Hennessey’s exclusive CarbonAero front nose splitter and side sill rockers provide a clean aerodynamic enhancement to the Camaro’s sharp lines and stance. Other visual and material cues such as embroidered headrests, premium floor mats, carbon fiber door sill plates and limited edition numbered plaques also find their way on to each car.

Not surprisingly, the Hennessey 20th Anniversary Edition Camaro is limited to just 20 examples and continues the tradition of high-horsepower, low production Hennessey models.

John Heinricy Drives the Hennessey V700 CTS-V During HPE Open House

Over the weekend we opened our doors in celebration of 20 years making fast cars go faster. The open house event featured all types of Hennessey vehicles — including the Venom GT — on display. But one of the main attractions wasn’t simply looking at them, parked with hoods opened. No, what had many attendees lining up was the opportunity to jump in the passenger seat for a blistering ride around Lonestar Motorsports Park’s winding return roads in a 700 horsepower V700 CTS-V piloted by none other than John Heinricy (the man behind the V’s record-setting Nurburgring run and Hennessey consulting engineer).

If you’re going to be driven in a CTS-V the way it was intended, this is the man you want behind the wheel.
