Hennessey Wraps up Visit to Barrett Jackson Orange County

Hennessey Performance is settling back in after wrapping up our visit to Barrett Jackson’s first Orange County edition of the famed auto auction. Nestled right beside duPont Registry’s sprawling display, we had roughly 3,000 horsepower lined up under the awning for attendees to get up close with.

Here’s the rundown of what you missed out on:

It might be safe to say we had one of the highest power to square foot ratios on the grounds at this past weekends event!

And incidentally, if you watched SPEED’s coverage of the event, you may have seen our trailer during the sweep away transitions. The camera guy across from us was continually panning and sweeping for those commercial cutaways you see before sending you back to the auction block.

Last month we brought you dyno video of a white and blue-striped Ford GT 700 — the Hennessey-upgraded GT that gains a solid 160 hp at the motor over stock — making 576 hp to the rear wheels.

And as promised, here are the results…

On everyday 93-octane pump gas, the freshly completed GT 1000 put down 857 rear-wheel horsepower.

And when tuned for C16 leaded race fuel, it catapulted to 972 rwhp, teasing the DynoJet’s graph by coming in just under that vaunted 1,000 line. Who knows, maybe we’ll be bringing you a third video of this same car doing just that one of these days.

Until then, here are the latest adventures of this wicket GT:
