On this week’s episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, Jay takes an up-close look at the new Hennessey HPE600 supercharged Camaro convertible. This featured ‘vert was the first to roll out of our Texas shop (and arguably the first supercharged 5th gen convertible to hit the streets) and is outfitted with larger 3-piece wheels, CarbonAero carbon fiber front splitter and side sills and a custom metallic blue hood stripes to go along with the 602 horsepower performance upgrade.
First Supercharged HPE600 Camaro Convertible Hits the Road

The new 2011 Camaro convertibles may only just now be hitting the streets, but we’ve already been hard at work unleashing our first supercharged HPE600 Camaro SS convertible onto the Texas blacktop.
In addition to the supercharged HPE600 upgrade, this first car — a Summit White automatic — also received a KW coilover suspension system, hood stripes in an LS9-esque metallic blue, wider HPE 20″ 3-piece wheels, and our CarbonAero™ carbon fiber front splitter and side sills (all available options for any HPE-upgraded Camaro).
With over 600 horsepower on tap and the ability to drop the top for the full open-air experience, the boosted convertible is the perfect cure spring fever.

Hennessey Wraps up Visit to Barrett Jackson Orange County

Hennessey Performance is settling back in after wrapping up our visit to Barrett Jackson’s first Orange County edition of the famed auto auction. Nestled right beside duPont Registry’s sprawling display, we had roughly 3,000 horsepower lined up under the awning for attendees to get up close with.
Here’s the rundown of what you missed out on:
- A red GTR800 trimmed in carbon fiber accents
- A Magnuson-supercharged HPE600 Challenger SRT8 with a trick modified shaker hood
- A fully-optioned supercharged HPE600 Camaro (it’s for sale!)
- A blisteringly fast twin turbo Ford GT1000
It might be safe to say we had one of the highest power to square foot ratios on the grounds at this past weekends event!
And incidentally, if you watched SPEED’s coverage of the event, you may have seen our trailer during the sweep away transitions. The camera guy across from us was continually panning and sweeping for those commercial cutaways you see before sending you back to the auction block.

Hemi owners rejoice! After long last, the Magnuson TVS2300 supercharger is finding its way onto the 6.1 in a big way: To the tune of 544 rwhp and a wicked torque curve that pulls the big-boned LX platform (and in this case, a 2010 Challenger SRT-8) through the gears.
The new staple of our supercharged HPE600 Challenger upgrade, the TVS2300 blower does for the Hemi what it’s been doing for the new Camaros for months. Namely, transforming a 420-something HP piece of modern muscle into an all-out street brawler.
With our HPE600 Challenger on 93 octane fuel, it put down 544 rwhp and 512 lb-ft of torque at 8 psi. On the standard pulley, making closer to 6 psi, it was still knocking out runs at 508 rwhp and nearly 480 lb-ft of torque.
All this on a brand new Hemi with only a few miles on the clock. Once the car gets a few thousand miles under its tires, the potential will only open up as the motor gets fully broken in.
